Previously, Sarah photographed for the Everett Herald in Washington, the Peoria Journal Star in Illinois, and the Provo Daily Herald in Utah. Her work has been recognized by the National Press Photographers Association and the Society of Professional Journalists. She also received a grant from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting for her Retro Report project on India’s family planning program.
