OUR MISSION
In 2025, The GroundTruth Project, founded in 2012, made a strategic decision to step away from its longtime investment in content and editorial work in order to focus fully on scaling its flagship programs. This shift prompted a rebrand, and The GroundTruth Project is now known as Report Local, home of Report for America and Report for the World.

About the history of The GroundTruth Project: Founded in 2012, The GroundTruth Project, was an award-winning, independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit news organization dedicated to supporting the next generation of journalists in the U.S. and around the world. In 2017, The GroundTruth Project launched Report for America, a national service program that places talented emerging journalists in local newsrooms to report on under-covered issues and communities. And in 2021, the organization launched Report for the World.
Report for America and Report for the World are the flagship programs of the rebranded Report Local.
Charlie Sennott, Founder of The GroundTruth Project, is continuing his editorial work through GroundTruth Media Partners.
